HISTORY OF EGYPT
Here are some facts about Ancient Egyptian history. Egypt developed around the Nile River. Why? They settled there because there was a lot of vegetation. It also gave them a way to travel and trade goods. It kept them away from enemies because the rapids on the Nile made it hard to cross over.
When one of the Egyptian pharaohs died, they mummified the body. Egyptians did this because they believed that when someone dies, their soul leaves their body and goes to the afterlife. The Egyptians also believed that when the mouths of the mummies are destroyed they can’t speak their name in order to pass to the next life. When a pharaoh’s tomb is broken into the previous pharaoh rewraps the mummy and the body is put into a new coffin, then taken to a secret tomb in the mountains.
The Egyptians settled in Egypt around 3,000 years ago. We know the black Egyptians were the first to settle in Egypt, but many believe that Narmer was the first pharaoh. The pharaohs were stored in a tomb after mummification, but they had a side chamber were some of the princes that haven’t lived long enough to be kings were snuck and stored there. Many people kept track of where the different tombs were marked with graffiti. Ramses the Great had the biggest temple in the 20th dynasty called medinhaboo. Ramses called it the mansions of the millions.
Many Egyptians believed that magic was a really powerful affects there was a good and a bad. Many pharaohs made wax figures of their enemies then smashed then before the go into battle to insure that they will win. Ancient Egyptians used hieroglyphics as words. When you see a snake and a semicircle it means that you are protected from any snake bite. Snakes were use a lot in Egypt to kill people. When you are a priest you may say that they shave their heads. Egypt means black. Egyptian language is called Afro-asiatic. Egypt’s greatest warrior was Tuck Mossis the Therik. Many mummified bodies can be found in Cairo museum. When a child wears a feather, it usually means that they are a prince.

Time Period:
Ancient Egypt time period started about 3,000 B.C. to 80 A.D. and has been divided into 8 or 9 periods.
Location:
Egypt was located in the Nile valley, in the northeast of Africa. Nubia was in the south and spreading west inland intp the Lybian Desert.
The Nile:
The Nile River got its name from the Greek word Veilos, which means valley. The Nile floods in the land of Egypt leaving black sediment and the Ancient Egyptians named the river Ar, meaning black.
Daily Life:
The Ancient Egypt daily life was actually much different than the vision that commonly comes to mind. Life in Ancient Egypt was primarily centered toward a polytheistic Religion, the pharaoh. Peasant life in Ancient Egypt was not always pleasant. Taxes were also imposed on crops which would have also made it difficult for most peasant to live beyond their poor means.
Inventions:
The constructions of pyramids was in fact restricted to the earlier days of Egyptian civilization.
The Egyptian lived in a simple mud, abode, wood or brick with elite having elaborate multi room mansions with richly painted walls, decorated floors, and built around courtyards.
