Around 5000 B.C. the first towns and cities started to be created in the Fertile Crescent. At 4000 B.C. the Sumerians established powerful cities states. In 3500 Much of Mesopotamia was inhabited by many Sumerian city-states. In 3300 BC. Cuneiform began to appear. In 3200 B.C. the Sumerians started to create vehicles with wheels. In 3000 B.C. Sumerians started using mathematics and number systems with the base 60. In 1758 B.C. Hammurabi established “Hammurabi’s Code,” a set of laws.
