SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF EGYPT
Social class structure was organized into six social classes, pharaoh on top, the government officials, priests, scribes, artisans, peasants, and slaves at the bottom.
Each class had its own rights. Pharaohs made all laws and decisions for the country. Government officials were loyal assistants to the pharaoh. Priests carried out the needs of gods and goddesses, and scribes marked down historical events in Ancient Egypt. The other half of the pyramid doesn’t have as much power. Artisans are craftsmen who trade their work or items for food. Peasants are the lowest on the social pyramid except for slaves. They basically had nothing, and slaves were the lowest on the social pyramid, either working to pay off a debt or were a captured enemy.
