TECHNOLOGY OF MESOPOTAMIA

Their technology was wheels, irrigation, the plow, writing, tools and many more useful inventions. If the Mesopotamians didn’t have technology, then they would not have been able to adapt to the geographical area they lived in.

Wheel: The wheel was invented in 3500 BC (about 9,000 years ago). They connected the wheel to something called a chariot in order to make travel easier.

Irrigation: Irrigation has been practiced along the Euphrates and Tigris rivers for thousands of years. They used irrigation to control the floods and to help the fertile soil travel to their crops.

Cuneiform: The writing style of the Mesopotamian’s been used to record data and communicate. Early writing was based on pictograms.

Plow: The plow was used for farming. When planting seeds they connected the plough to a domesticated ox to pull the plow to lift up the more fertile soil.

Mesopotamia technology was helpful for people to get around such as For ransportation they had to make everything. They invented a lot of things such as plows, calendar, writing, wheels, and levies. They used writing to communicate with each other and they used wheels to get each other. They also needed to trade for products they did not have, and their writing was called cuneiform. Cuneiform is a type of writing on clay. It helped people in Mesopotamia so they were able to communicate with each other. They also made levees.
