TECHNOLOGY OF MESOPOTAMIA

 

Cuneiform - The Sumerians created clay tablets for writing. In 3,000 B.C. the Sumerians made pictures as writing.

 

Wheel – The oldest wheel was created in Mesopotamia. Sumer also used the wheel in pottery.

 

Mathematics – They first used 60-second minutes and 60-minute hours.

 

Metal – Bronze and iron were used to make tools and weapons.

 

Astronomy – Using a higher level of math, they were able to track movement of the stars. One of their achievements was being table to track a planet’s movement.
