Have you ever wondered how some of your favorite restaurants started out? Or how you can start your own restaurant? Carolyn primer may be able to help. Carolyn developed an institute called the Cleveland Culinary Launch & Kitchen (CCLK), and is located on 2800 Euclid Avenue. In Cleveland, Ohio I think Carolyn has really changed thing by contributing to the success of the restaurant industry and helping aspiring chefs grow their business. Carolyn grew up in the shaker/Euclid area. When she was younger, she dreamt of being a teacher and or a writer, because she “loved school” and was a school nerd.”

During our interview Carolyn was a very fun, energetic, and humorous person. However according to her, she wasn’t always like this. Carolyn said that she” loosened up as she aged. Some advice that Carolyn would like to tell her younger self would be to “not let your fears hold you back because it is ok to be afraid, it’s normal. “She said “life goes on whether you go with it or not.” Carolyn still likes some of the things she did when she was younger. She still loves the outdoors and working with animals. Carolyn didn’t always want to work with food. she first decided that she wanted to work with food when she was reading a magazine her school used to get called the “Weekly Reader” and there was an article about veal and cows. The article stated that veil was “baby cow that was stuffed in a crate to make the meat softer. This made Carolyn really sad because before then she never knew what really was in her food and where it came from. She became really interested in where the other foods came from.

The chefs at CCLK make very interesting things. Some of the things made are ginger bread houses, homemade hot sauce, pickles, doughnuts, bagels and roasted pork. One time Carolyn had to drive down to the kitchen in the middle of the night because the electricity went out and everyone had all of their food in the refrigerator for the Shaker market prepared for the next day!

The kitchen was made to help people who didn’t have enough money to buy or rent their own kitchen. the kitchen also gives classes to people who want to learn how to cook different things other than what they specialize in. the kitchen is making  Cleveland better because it is making people more confident to start their own businesses and maybe to even help someone else just like Carolyn helped them.

Carolyn is very inspiring. Even though some things aren’t fair, she still ended with everything she wanted and probably even more! She gets to help people achieve their dreams every day.
