Have you ever seen or worked with a 3-D printer? If not, now you can thanks to Clevelander CJ Lynce.  We now have access to a 3D printer at the Cleveland public library and it does not cost a penny, the only thing you will need is a library card. This is just one example of the awesome accomplishments that CJ Lynce is making possible for Clevelanders in the Public Library. Tech Central was made for people to learn new technology like taking computer classes or if you need help using a computer, and to give people access to new technological innovations.

Lynce works with technology located in the downtown Cleveland public library. He helps people learn how to use technology and through his organization called Tech Central. He is now the manager there and helps people whom may be new to the process, learn how to use computers or other technology. Maker Space, a part of the Tech Central,  is a place you can make things with their Laser Engraving and Cutting Machine, 3-D printer in scanning, Vinyl Cutting Machine, Music Recording and Production. Some people come in to make things for their jobs or companies. You can all find this in the Maker Space that just requires a library card and an identification card, and if you are under age that is alright because only thing you need is a parent. Lynce is making a difference in Cleveland by offering technology and assistance to many first time or inexperienced users.

CJ Lynce was inspired to do this because he had a passion for technology. He “knows a lot about computers”, he said. When he was 12 he got to take a computer apart and put it back together and that’s when he realized he “really enjoyed doing things like this.” According to Lynch, he has always “loved technology, and it might be in his genes”.

CJ Lynce loves to help people at his job. He loves to see their smiling faces when they leave his office. But one of the disadvantages Mr. Cj Lynce has is when his clients are “really stuck and cannot seem to get it, or if they are really grumpy”.

CJ Lynce is a true Clevaland inspiration because he is helping people who may not have access to technology learn 21st century skills and training. When asked about where he sees himself in the future, he replied that he “would like to be a semi-truck driver because he would get paid to get to travel and see the world”. His bright and optimistic attitude is just one of the reasons he is a Cleveland Renaissance contributor. Some advice that CJ Lynce gave me was “keep going with my dreams” and that’s what I’m going to keep doing.
