“We thought the only fastest way of urban transportation was through the air, and it's less expensive. If this is happening, this should be finished by next year."

- Matt Volosin

Would you dare to ride on a cable car that flies in the air at least 150 feet off the ground, while looking down at nothing but buildings below and nothing protecting you from falling except a glass window? I surely would. Matt Volosin, 35 and his crew at Sky Lift are making this possible in Cleveland. He and his company members of LeanDog Inc. are planning to build a cool Sky Lift in downtown Cleveland. The Sky Lift is a jaw-dropping addition to our city because it will make going downtown an exciting adventure. The idea was born when Matt Volosin met John Stahl, the C.E.O of LeanDog Inc. software, and the two decided the Sky Lift was a great idea for touring Cleveland. They both currently are working on Sky Lift, a project for the construction of cable car network that would fly up many feet over Cleveland’s downtown landscape filled with passengers. Volosin is helping to improve the city of Cleveland by offering an innovative and unique experience for tourism and transportation.

Matt’s current title is cadence, and his role is in the communication and strategy department. Basically he is in charge of telling people what’s going on and if there’s a problem he uses various strategies to resolve the problem. He and his gang are one step closer in this process of making downtown a more popular place to be because people are going want to ride the Sky Lift, I know I would be the first in line to ride. This is a very unique idea from this group of Cleveland innovators.

“Have the courage to Dream the impossible” Volosin recalled when thinking back to his upbringing. He was the oldest out the three and had two siblings, a brother and a sister. His mother use to tell him “you are the oldest; you have to take care of your brother and sister.”  Volosin was born and Westlake, Ohio and he lived there until he graduated from Cleveland State University. Growing up, Volosin was athletic and played many sports like basketball, football, track, and golf. He said “it’s all about studying, getting good grades along with getting into programs, the stuff they teach you which can really help you succeed in life and also prepping for upcoming exams.”

Matt Volosin’s mission is extraordinary; I would love to have this job and you probably would too. The start of his career began by meeting John Stahl and coming up with the plans for the Sky Lift. A Sky Lift is a cable car that carries you across the suspended cables high above the Cleveland structures. Looking down below your feet the buildings, you and falling protected by sustained glass this would be a very sick ride. For you Clevelanders who are looking forward towards this ride I think you are going to enjoy the experience and the low cost. To ride the Sky Lift it’s certainly not free, for a one way ride it cost $3.50, $5.00 for a round trip pass, which is a reasonable price I would thought it a be very expensive. Volosin and his crew are planning to build 14 stations; these stations will connect you with the waterfront as well as the beautiful Cleveland parks while providing a digital experience that will change the way you enjoy yourself downtown. Sky Lift stations would be integrated with RTA waterfront line the safety hazards are cover because 2-6 people per shift are staffed. This innovation will also bring more people downtown, which means these people will go to other local businesses. This project will benefit different companies and help our city grow.

Matt Volosin played a cool part in creating the appearance of the Sky Lift by insisting a hologram appear on the Sky Lift car to promote different places that can take you, just imagine a hologram talking to you. The future awaits us.

Matt Volosin daily life isn’t just about his work, he also loves doing things that are very interesting. “Family is number one”. Matt said putting his family before everything which I think that’s the right thing to do. He has a four year old son and two year old daughter. In his daily life he takes care of them and they “mean the world to me”, he said. He loves to travel, just to go out into the world and meet new people and see new things. He just simply likes living life which I know I do. Volosin said he “likes helping people”, which shows the kind side of him. Matt Volosin is a true role model, and I look up to him as a Cleveland hero.
